EDUCATE YOUR STAFF

Chris Stankiewicz of Safe Schools IPM is a featured presenter at State-approved training courses. These are open to all school districts and generally include principals, administrators and maintenance staff.

Private, in-house training sessions are offered at no cost to Safe Schools IPM clients. Training sessions are available in large or small group settings.

Our presentation features include:

  • Administrative IPM roles and responsibilities
  • Sanitary and structural best practices
  • Understanding environmental factors related to pests
  • Preparing for a State IPM audit
  • How to address school community health concerns involving pesticides

The training component of our service will establish a culture that embraces modern approaches to pest management. A district-wide implementation of proper IPM techniques (see pest control) will lead to fiscal savings due to less service requests.
Buildings and grounds supervisors will gain time for other initiatives, as the maintenance staff is empowered to make sound IPM decisions on their own. Most importantly, students will not be unnecessarily exposed to pesticides.
